Biden criticises pro-choice activists outside judges’ homes

US President Joe Biden has condemned protests by pro-choice activists outside the homes of two conservative US Supreme Court justices, as the abortion debate heats up

100 people marched from Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s house in Maryland to Chief Justice John Roberts property on Saturday night.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says protest should never include “violence, threats, or vandalism”.

While Biden strongly believes in the constitutional right to protest, the White House adds “Judges perform an incredibly important function in society, and they must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety”.

Kavanaugh has faced demonstrations at his home before over sexual assault allegations which surfaced at this time of his appointment.

Meanwhile, in the Midwest the Wisconsin Family Action Centre also went up in flames.

The Wisconsin Centre is an anti-abortion organisation and police believe it was a targeted attack.

In a message spray-painted outside the building, vandals wrote “if abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either”.

An unused petrol bomb was also located at the scene.

It comes as a leaked draft decision suggests the Supreme Court is set to overturn the historic Roe v Wade decision which protects abortion rights throughout the US.
